Job Summary

  • The incumbent will assist in managing hospital capacity operations within the MGH Capacity Coordination Center, acting as a liaison between attending and resident physicians, nursing staff, and administrative staff to ensure timely and clinically appropriate placement of patients.
  • Responsibilities include identifying and assigning beds for various admissions, monitoring hospital census in Epic, participating in daily meetings to assess occupancy/capacity needs, and arranging timely transfers to and from intensive care units.
  • The role also involves responding to requests for special bed needs, handling Pre-Code Help, Code Help, and Capacity Disaster situations, performing ADT maintenance, and facilitating outside hospital transfers via the MD Connect phone line.
