Zurich Insurance Company Ltd is seeking a Senior Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney to represent commercial insureds in Maryland and the District of Columbia. This role involves preparing and trying complex Workers’ Compensation cases and offers competitive compensation, benefits, and a supportive work environment

Job Summary

  • This Trial Attorney will be responsible for representing the commercial insureds of a prestigious and financially stable commercial insurance carrier, by preparing and trying high complexity, high exposure Maryland and District of Columbia Workers’ Compensation cases.
  • Responsibilities will include working directly with claims professionals providing legal analysis and advice, preparing and filing legal pleadings and documents, performing legal research, preparing for and conducting pre-trial discovery, preparing for and handling final hearings before the workers’ compensation judge, and conducting post-trial activities where appropriate.

  • 7 or more years of experience in Workers’ Compensation Litigation
  • Active member of Maryland Bar
  • Active member of District of Columbia Bar
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe
  • Experience with Lexis or Westlaw
