Penn State is seeking a Maintenance Worker Utility to perform various cleaning and maintenance tasks on campus. The role involves operating equipment, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with event setups, requiring basic skills and up to three months of experience

Job Summary

  • Operate various types of scrubbing, buffing, and shampooing equipment such as scrubbing machine, vacuum, wet-dry pick-up machine, etc., and hand tools, as required.
  • Remove, replace incandescent bulbs, fluorescent tubes and starters, shades, and covers(all from permanent fixtures), venetian and roller blinds, window screens, wall hangings, etc.
  • Assist in set-up and clean-up of chairs, tables, stages, platforms, bleachers, lecterns, etc , at various campus locations for banquets, plays, and other scheduled events.
