Carnegie Mellon University is seeking a Research Assistant in the Department of Mechanical Engineering to support experimental work on the relationship between spatter particles and porosity in laser powder bed fusion of metals. Job Summary

  • You will contribute to the department by providing support by collecting the required experimental data for determining the link between spatter particles and porosity in the laser powder bed fusion of metals (PBF-LB/M), working with professors and their teams to accomplish this goal.
  • Responsibilities include collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, communicating results through reports and weekly presentations, planning and running experiments, analyzing data using Python, training machine learning models, and writing/submitting manuscripts to academic journals.
