Job Summary

  • Under the direct supervision of an RN, the UMMC student nurse tech program will allow nursing students, who are actively progressing through an accredited school of nursing, to float to designated clinical areas and provide direct and indirect patient care.
  • The program consists of three (3) levels which expand as students complete clinical competencies in nursing program.
  • Student nurse techs will work in designated areas to strengthen critical thinking skills, learn time management and clinical practice and transition to future position of registered nurse.
