The Steward is the department head of the vessels Galley department and reports directly to the Master of the vessel.
Routine duties require supervision of galley staff, overseeing meal service operations, supply management, and ensuring the department complies with company sanitary and safety standards.
Responsible for discipline, welfare of galley personnel and adherence to company policies including training and development of staff; providing feedback and completing performance evaluations; and record keeping of hours worked.
