The State of Nebraska is seeking an Airport Fire Fighter Trainee to join their Military Agency 31 in Lincoln, NE. This temporary role involves extensive training in emergency response, fire fighting, and rescue operations, with a starting pay of $20.894 per hour

Job Summary

  • Trains to perform rescue and extraction operations including searching burning aircraft and structures for trapped and/or unconscious victims, and operating the "jaws-of-life".
  • When certified, responds with crew to a variety of emergency situations: holds nozzles and directs agent streams; raises and climbs ladders; and uses chemical extinguishers, bars, hooks, lines and other equipment in performing fire fighting and rescue duties.
  • Participates in the Fire Department Public Education Program by promoting fire safety to the general public through tours of the station, safety briefings, extinguisher classes and informational flyers.
