Job Summary
This position will be responsible for performing non-research biological science work utilizing microbiological and molecular techniques, including, but not limited to, DNA extraction and real-time polymerase chain reaction (real-time PCR) to rapidly identify and characterize potential pathogenic bacterial and viral threat agents.
Responsibilities include handling, receipt, and processing of samples potentially containing biological threat agents, preparing reagents, decontamination of workspaces, and maintaining chain-of-custody.
The role requires adherence to QA/QC requirements, maintaining documentation of records demonstrating compliance with applicable training, and preparing written and oral technical reports.

Key Requirements
Master’s degree or Ph.D. in microbiology, molecular biology or related
1 year laboratory bench experience with PCR, aseptic techniques
1 year Senior Scientist or Team Leader experience
Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences
4 years laboratory bench experience with PCR, aseptic techniques
