Job Summary

  • The department of Safety Engineering is engaged in deterministic and probabilistic fire assessments in support of new CANDU Nuclear Power Plants as well as supporting the operation and safety of the existing domestic and international CANDU plants.
  • The incumbent will work together with other senior and junior staff to develop and apply advanced analysis methodologies to address client/project concerns regarding safety and licensing for plant support, refurbishment and new-build.

  • Fire Hazard Assessment (FHA)
  • Fire Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA)
  • Fire Safe Shutdown Analysis (FSSA)
  • Fire Code Compliance Review (CCR)
  • Fire modeling using CFAST

Nice-to-have

  • Customer and end user centric
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Effective in multidisciplinary teams
  • Team leading experience

Key Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience in FHA, CCR or FSSA
  • Registered or eligible for Professional Engineer in Ontario
  • CFPS certification of the NFPA is a plus
  • Knowledge of fire modeling using FDS will be beneficial
  • Experience with NBCC, NFCC, CSA N293, CSA N393, NFPA and ULC standards
