The Security Officer I is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of patients, visitors, staff, and property within Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
Role includes conducting regular patrols, monitoring surveillance systems, responding to emergencies, and acting as a first responder to various incidents.
Candidates must be able to successfully pass an annual physical assessment including running 1320 feet in 4 minutes and climbing 8 flights of stairs.

Must-have
1 year security or law enforcement experience
Valid Georgia driver's license
Ability to pass physical fitness assessment
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong communication and observation skills
Nice-to-have
Healthcare industry experience preferred
Associate's degree in related field
Empathic listening and de-escalation skills
Experience with non-lethal weapons
Customer service background
Key Requirements
1 year experience in security, law enforcement, fire, military, safety, EMS or customer service
Valid Georgia driver's license and insurable driving record
High school diploma or equivalent education
Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T) certification preferred
MASADA defensive tactical training within 9 months
Marcus Crisis Prevention Program (MCPP) within 6 months
IAHSS basic certification within 6 months
Heartsaver or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 3 months
