Set and evolve the technical direction for privacy tooling, partnering closely with the team’s TL and PM.
Lead delivery of complex, multi-quarter initiatives across data privacy, PII management, and data protection domains, often coordinating work across multiple teams and technical areas.
Provide deep technical mentorship, helping other engineers grow their design, coding, and operational skills while contributing to an inclusive, high-trust team culture.

Staff-level technical leadership
Backend systems design and operation
Distributed systems architecture
JVM language (Java preferred)
Relational databases (MySQL)

Reliability and observability

Security, compliance, or privacy domain experience
Data or reporting platforms
Kafka and event-driven architectures
Experience with auditors or GRC teams
Key Requirements
Tenured backend engineers with staff-level scope
Experience operating at staff-level scope
Experience with data governance in large-scale systems
Experience designing and operating distributed systems in production
Experience with JVM language (ideally Java)
Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL)
Experience with reliability, observability, and operational excellence
