Skills & Requirements

Must-have

  • Extensive knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
  • Experience with Denials Management and bill holds
  • Strong knowledge of medical billing practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHR systems
  • Ability to perform patient accounts audits

Nice-to-have

  • RHIA or RHIT certification preferred
  • Fluency in Cerner and/or eCW desirable
  • Strong communication with clinical providers
  • Experience presenting findings to leadership

Key Requirements

  • 3+ years of coding experience in hospital or medical practice
  • Certified in CCS, CCS-P, or CPC required
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Understanding of CMS rules and HIPAA regulations
