Job Summary

  • The Facilities Manager has overall responsibility for safe and effective operations within the Department of Physics, Department of Astronomy, Institute for Physical Sciences and Technology, and the Joint Quantum Institute.
  • Manages and ensures that buildings, facilities, and services are safe, up to code, and fully operational, meeting the needs of the people who work in them.
  • Plans, prioritizes, organizes, directs, and manages facility services, including new construction, building maintenance and repair, facilities contract administration, safety and security programs, emergency preparedness, and compliance with UMD sustainability goals.
