The NC Department of Transportation is seeking an Engineering Technician III for its Winston-Salem Construction Unit, responsible for technical engineering work and supporting engineers in various areas, including construction and materials testing. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, particularly in civil engineering or survey technology, and demonstrate the ability to work independently and in a team environment
Job Summary
The position serves as an advanced level technician completing technical engineering work and supporting other engineers in the Winston-Salem Construction #2 Unit.
Candidates must be able to function independently as a survey crew leader directing activities for collecting field data on complex surveys.
This role requires applying the Department's safety program while working in hazardous outdoor environments including traffic, heights, and rough terrain.
