Job Summary
Provides effective communications support to the Carilion Police Department and ancillary areas within the organization.
Receives emergency and non-emergency calls for services, determines the nature, location, priority of the call and dispatches units accordingly.
Monitors multiple computer devices that receive data transmissions to include building alarms, fire, panic, burglary and card access alarms, and an extensive CCTV network.

Key Requirements
High School graduate or equivalent required
Minimum of 10 years of dispatch experience may be substituted for High School degree
Prior experience as a police or emergency services dispatcher preferred
VCIN/NCIC certification required or ability to obtain within one year of hire
