Job Summary
Work in this class primarily involves the operation of standard hand tools, power equipment, vehicles, and heavy equipment utilized in the preventative maintenance, repair, and construction of roads and roadside features for the State’s highway and roadway systems.
Work may include flagging and assisting with maintenance/repair project completion through the use of standard tools and equipment such as tractor with various attachments, curb machine, cutoff saw, dump truck, small wheel and sheep foot rollers, vibratory roller compactor, pulverizer mixer, and pneumatic tire roller.
Position requires work during any adverse weather such as snow and/or ice, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc. which can lead to working extended daily hours, weekends, and holidays.
