** Blue Origin is seeking a Materials & Processes Senior Engineer specializing in oxygen compatibility for its Lunar Permanence business unit. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in materials engineering, specifically with oxygen environments and NASA processes, and will play a key role in ensuring safe human spaceflight. **

Job Summary

  • Serve as the subject matter expert by leading oxygen compatibility assessments (OCA) for liquid oxygen lines, and flammability testing for metallic and non-metallic materials, components, and systems used in pressurized, human-rated spacecraft.
  • Apply and interpret standards ASTM MNL36, NASA-STD-6001B, NASA-STD-6016 review and approve materials for use in or near oxygen systems (e.g., ECLS, valves, seals, fittings).
  • You will work directly with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program.

Key Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Aerospace, Material Science, Mechanical or related field
  • 10+ Years of demonstrated M&P or Engineering experience
  • Direct signatory experience for OCAs
  • NASA OCA training and certifications
  • In-depth knowledge of aerospace-grade materials characterization
  • Knowledge of industry standards for material data analysis
  • Experience organizing and managing materials and process-related data
