  • Responsible for police activities and management of personnel, equipment, and field emergencies on an assigned shift; or in a special investigative or intelligence section.
  • A Lieutenant assigned to the University of Chicago Medicine (UCM) within the University of Chicago Police Department (UCPD) will have responsibilities that are specific to the unique environment and security needs of the medical center.

Key Requirements

  • 5-7 years of work experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Four years of experience at sergeant or higher
  • Certified Illinois Law Enforcement Officer
  • Valid driver's license
  • Three years of driving experience
  • First Aid and CPR certifications
  • Pass background investigation
  • Pass medical examinations
  • Pass psychological test
  • Pass drug screens
  • Pass physical fitness tests
