Job Summary

• Drive policy development at the University of Melbourne by managing day-to-day academic policy operations and leading policy development and review.
• Provide expert advice on policy interpretation and implement improvements to ensure policies are clear, compliant, and fit for purpose.
• The University Governance Team provides expert advice and governance support to the University Council and its subcommittees, the University Executive, and the wider university community.

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience in higher education or equivalent
• Experience designing, reviewing, and implementing policies
• Strong track record in project-style policy work
• Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills
• Ability to interpret and apply legislation, standards, and complex rules
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously
• Knowledge of Australian higher education regulation (TEQSA, HESF, ESOS) or ability to acquire it
