  • The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) role is responsible and accountable for advancing the standard of nursing practice within three spheres of influence: patient, nurses and nursing practice, and organizations and systems through expert clinical practice, education, consultation, systems leadership, serving as a change agent, collaboration and research.
  • The CNS consults with and seeks opportunities to advise nurses and other health care team members in the care of the complex patient and family by assessing, interpreting, planning, implementing, and evaluating care.
