Job Summary

  • Performs a variety of duties involved in the collection, identification, and labeling of venous and capillary blood specimens from patients for health care providers at the patient service center(s), main hospital facility, and various client sites, according to established methods and procedures.
  • Responsible for handling of all laboratory specimens, performs capillary glucose testing, and completes clerical duties associated with laboratory specimen collection.
  • Assists in training of phlebotomy students, nursing or laboratory personnel, as directed, in regards to obtaining, handling and transport of specimens, and other areas related to phlebotomy.
