The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a Social Work Intern to assist in providing clinical services and support to patients and families at the Psychiatric Research Institute. The ideal candidate is currently pursuing a Master’s in Social Work, with some experience in behavioral health settings, and will collaborate with various community organizations to enhance service delivery

Job Summary

  • The Psychiatric Research Institute (PRI) internship will assist in preparing social work interns to be knowledgeable of the profession’s missions, values, principles, and standards, and will seek the well-being of the client population in a consistently ethical manner.
  • The Social Work Intern will collaborate with PRI and other UAMS departments to build and maintain collaborative relationships with community health and social welfare organizations and community groups in promoting effective and efficient service delivery and the development of resources to meet the needs of client populations.

Key Requirements

  • Adult Maltreatment screening
  • Annual TB Screening
  • Child Maltreatment screening
  • Criminal Background Check
  • Substance Abuse Testing
