When a patient comes in for a diagnostic test, they are often nervous and unsure of what is going to happen.
Perform transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE), transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE), and stress echos (SE) in accordance with department policy and protocols.
Maintain equipment, troubleshoot issues, and participate in Continuous Performance Improvement programs.

Perform transthoracic echocardiograms
Equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
Infection control procedures

Use of cardiology PACS or EMR systems

Work independently with minimal supervision
Make decisions in ambiguous situations
Key Requirements
Graduate of CAAHEP accredited echocardiography program
800 clinical hours in echocardiography
Experience as an echo sonographer
Knowledge of congenital heart defects
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Knowledge of professional regulation and accreditation requirements
