Job Summary
PATH seeks a subject matter expert to strengthen Ethiopia's polio and vaccine-preventable disease surveillance systems under the STRIDES Project.
The consultant will conduct desk reviews, active case searches, and supervisory visits in high-risk areas including border, pastoralist, and refugee settings.
This role requires developing improvement plans, building staff capacity in data analysis, and coordinating closely with the Federal Ministry of Health and GPEI partners.

Training and mentoring health workers
Coordination with government health structures

Working knowledge of Amharic language
Experience in animal health or zoonotic diseases
Familiarity with DHIS2 digital tools
Prior work with GPEI partners
Experience in refugee or IDP settings
Key Requirements
Master's degree in epidemiology or public health
5 years experience in polio surveillance
Demonstrated experience with AFP surveillance
Legal authorization to work in Ethiopia
Experience working with Ethiopian public health system
