Job Summary

• The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care for individual patients and families living with type 1 diabetes and may be on or transitioning to insulin pump therapy.
• The primary responsibility of this position is as a Diabetes Nurse Educator and for the insulin pump program.

Key Requirements

• Current Certification of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Bilingualism (English/French)
• BScN (current or in progress)
• Minimum two years Diabetes Paediatric experience
• Certified Diabetes Educator (in progress or ability to achieve within one year)
• Certified insulin pump trainer
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Strong teaching skills
• Demonstrated professionalism and interest in self development
• Demonstrated strong family centered care skills
• Ambulatory Care experience
