Job Summary

This position facilitates modifications to clinical documentation through concurrent interaction with physicians and other members of the health care team to achieve a complete medical record supporting accurate coding.
The role includes educating internal customers on compliance, coding, and documentation issues and coaching physicians to improve documentation reflecting service intensity and severity of illness.

Skills & Requirements
Must-have
Concurrent inpatient medical record review
Interaction with physicians and healthcare team
Clinical documentation improvement
Knowledge of adult medicine
Proficiency in computer and database usage
Nice-to-have
Critical care and ICU nursing experience
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Adaptability and self-motivation
Team player with positive attitude
Knowledge of payer regulations
Key Requirements
Must be an RN with BSN or MSN
At least 5 years recent RN bedside acute hospital experience
Current Texas nursing license or temporary/compact license
Prefer ICU or critical care nursing experience
Bachelor of Nursing required
Work Rights
