Job Summary

  • This position facilitates modifications to clinical documentation through concurrent interaction with physicians and other members of the health care team to achieve a complete medical record supporting accurate coding.
  • The role includes educating internal customers on compliance, coding, and documentation issues and coaching physicians to improve documentation reflecting service intensity and severity of illness.

Must-have

  • Concurrent inpatient medical record review
  • Interaction with physicians and healthcare team

  • Knowledge of adult medicine
  • Proficiency in computer and database usage

Key Requirements

  • Must be an RN with BSN or MSN
  • At least 5 years recent RN bedside acute hospital experience
  • Current Texas nursing license or temporary/compact license
  • Prefer ICU or critical care nursing experience
  • Bachelor of Nursing required
