Job Summary
It’s the mission of the NC Department of Transportation to connect people, products and places safely and efficiently with customer focus, accountability, and environmental sensitivity to enhance the economy and vitality of North Carolina.
Work will consist of a wide range of progressively responsible maintenance tasks in preventive maintenance, repair and construction of state-maintained roads and roadside features.
Position will operate various pieces of equipment including bulldozer, excavator, backhoe, skid steer, tandem dump truck, front end loader, tractor trailer, asphalt maintainer, motor grader, roller, and additional pieces of heavy equipment as needed.

ability to work in extreme weather conditions

Key Requirements
High school diploma or GED
Six years of related equipment operation experience
Commercial Driver’s License required or must obtain within 360 days
Pre-employment drug testing
Ability to lift up to 50lbs repeatedly and exert 100lbs occasionally
Work Rights
Must have or obtain NC Commercial Driver’s License within 360 days
