Job Summary

  • The Department of Public Safety's mission is to safeguard and preserve the lives and property of the people of North Carolina through preparation, prevention, and protection with integrity and honor.
  • The primary purpose of this position is to provide direct supervision to direct care staff responsible for the safety and security of pre- and post-adjudicated delinquents, status offenders and juveniles bound over to Superior Court; as well as provide direct supervision to aforementioned juveniles.

  • Juvenile Justice Officer certification
  • Pass Criminal Background check

  • Pass Sexual Risk Screening test
  • Pass Physical (Vision and Hearing)
  • US citizen
  • At least 20 years of age
