  • Responsibilities include overall management of the nursing department, developing policies, ensuring resident safety, recruiting and training staff, and managing department budgets.
  • The DON will also serve as a liaison between the facility, physicians, and family members, and participate in QA, state surveys, and care conferences.

Key Requirements

  • Good standing with the State Board of Nursing
  • Maintain all required continuing education/licensing
  • Minimum of 7 years nurse management experience preferred
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals and regulations
  • Ability to write reports and procedure manuals
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations
  • Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite products
  • Proficient in Point Click Care (PCC)
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
