Key Requirements

  • Currently certified by North Carolina in Basic Law Enforcement Training or enrolled in a BLET course scheduled to graduate before January 05, 2027
  • 21-39 years of age
  • High School diploma or GED
  • 10th grade reading level
  • US Citizen or Naturalized Citizen
  • No felony offense
  • No serious misdemeanor offense
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Willing to live and work anywhere in North Carolina
  • 20/30 vision corrected
  • Pass Polygraph Examination
  • Pass Extensive Background Investigation
  • Pass Review Board
  • Pass Medical/Physical Exam (including drug screening)
  • Score at or above 60% on Cooper Physical Fitness Test
  • Pass Psychological Examination
  • Pass Colonel’s Review
