This position focuses on the hatchery production of seed shellfish, covering algae production, broodstock conditioning, spawning, larval rearing, and nursery grow-out.
The role requires working at the Suffolk County Marine Environmental Learning Center and moving to various nursery sites throughout Suffolk County as needed.
Candidates must be reliable team players capable of following detailed protocols while interacting with clientele, staff, volunteers, and the public.

Valid NYS Driver's License and ability to pass background check
Physical ability to lift 20-50 lbs regularly
Reliability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
Nice-to-have
Shellfish hatchery or laboratory experience preferred
SCUBA certification and boating license
Experience with heavy machinery like skid steer
Strong communication skills for public interaction
Bachelor of Science degree in related field
