Job Summary

  • The Human Factors/Display Specialist will review and evaluate payload application software graphical user interfaces (GUIs) and prepare iterative product design review reports.
  • This position plans and conducts usability verification tests, prepares test reports, and tracks usability-related issues for flight candidate crew display products.
  • Candidate will perform software UI requirements applicability assessments and respond to ISS User requests for support throughout the product development phase.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human factors, psychology, engineering, science or related field
  • 0-2 years of related job experience
  • Experience in design support of software display interfaces
  • Experience in UI design orientation and UI product evaluation
  • Knowledge of ISS program display and graphics commonality standards
  • Knowledge of human factors in space
  • Familiarity with ISS microgravity science
  • Knowledge of user-centered design principles
  • Knowledge of usability standards per ISO 9241
  • Familiarity with current/emerging display architectures
  • Familiarity with current commercial operating systems design standards
  • Display prototyping skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to apply defined processes and work to a product integration milestone schedule
