Job Summary

  • Under the leadership of the Surgical Services Clinical Director, the assistant director collaborates with the Director, Supervisors, and Charge Nurses in planning, goal setting, developing department budgets, coordinating supplies/equipment, staffing (e.g. recruitment/retention).
  • The assistant director is responsible and accountable, twenty-four hours a day, for assigned tasks such as supervising the department’s operations, including but not limited to, being a resource and role model to staff for problem resolution with concerns/occurrences specific to patient care, participate in direct patient care service delivery, safety awareness, supplies, equipment, computer software applications, and customer service concerns.
  • The assistant director plays a crucial role in supporting quality performance initiatives through ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, collection and analysis of quality and performance improvement data, assisting with development of future performance improvement objectives and quality initiatives and development or revision of department policies and procedures, as needed.

Key Requirements

  • 5 years current perioperative RN experience
  • Charge RN or related management experience
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • State of CA RN license required
  • AHA Healthcare Provider BLS required
  • ACLS certification required within orientation
  • CNOR certification preferred upon hire
