Lead Surgical Technologists are integral members of the perioperative team who work under the supervision, direction, and license of the surgeon and with nurses and other multidisciplinary healthcare team members.
Major functions include, but are not limited to, preparation of the operating room suite, gathering necessary surgical instrumentation and supplies, collaborating with the Central Processing Department, Materials Management, Clinical Support, Education, and Management.
