Job Summary

  • The VP, Robotics Instrumentation and New Growth leads a team of ~170 engineers responsible for research and development of Instruments and Accessories across the OTTAVA surgical robotics platform and will be responsible for the innovation strategy in support of new growth areas across Surgery for the Surgery R&D team.
  • You will be responsible for designing and implementing strategies to deliver a highly differentiated portfolio of instruments and accessories for the soft-tissue surgical robotics portfolio, acting as a technology expert in evaluating inorganic business development opportunities.
  • Lead and develop a world-class instrumentation team, honing a culture of innovation and ensuring core design and development competencies are in place, while managing team leaders throughout the product development cycle.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum BS in engineering, mechanical or electrical or related field
  • Minimum 15+ years' experience in development or manufacturing of complex products in a regulated environment
  • Track record of successfully bringing products from concept to market
  • Experience being accountable for end-to-end Research and Development processes
  • Demonstrated track record of partnering with business development
