Job Summary

  • Responsible for the inspection of new and existing construction for compliance with adopted building codes and local ordinances to establish that requirements for life, health, safety and welfare of building occupants and the general public are met.
  • Perform combination inspections, primarily building, mechanical, plumbing and electrical, of new and existing residential, commercial, multi-family projects and all associated structures.
  • Mentor/train other Combination Inspectors in areas of licensing/expertise/certification and participates in the code adoption process.

Key Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 4 years trades experience
  • 2 years Combination Inspector II
  • State Plumbing Inspector License
  • ICC Residential and Building Inspector Certifications
  • ICC Residential and Commercial Mechanical Inspector Certifications
  • ICC Residential Electrical Inspector Certification within one-year
  • ICC Commercial Electrical Inspector Certification within one-year
  • Valid Class C Texas driver's license
