Skills & Requirements

Must-have

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering
  • 6+ years engineering experience with Bachelor's
  • 4+ years engineering experience with Master's/PhD
  • Coursework in mechanics of materials and heat transfer
  • Proficiency in ANSYS, NASTRAN, and Siemens NX
  • Ability to create and read mechanical drawings
  • Experience with machine shop practices and fabrication

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with high and ultra-high vacuum systems
  • Knowledge of welding and brazing practices
  • Familiarity with additive manufacturing (3D printing)
  • Experience designing lifting and rigging for heavy components

Key Requirements

  • ABET accredited degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • Minimum 6 years experience with Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 4 years experience with Master's or PhD
  • Successful completion of federal background check
  • Eligibility to obtain HSPD-12 PIV Credential
