  • Currently certified by North Carolina in Basic Law Enforcement Training
  • 21 years of age by first day of basic school
  • No more than 39 years of age on first day of Basic School
  • High School diploma or equivalency (GED)
  • Score at or above 10th grade reading level
  • Citizen of the United States or Naturalized Citizen
  • No Felony Offense
  • No SERIOUS misdemeanor offense
  • Valid drivers license and good driving record
  • Willing to live and work in any area of North Carolina
  • 20/30 vision corrected to 20/30
  • Pass Polygraph Examination
  • Pass Extensive Background Investigation
  • Pass Review Board (Interview Panel)
  • Pass Medical/Physical Exam (including drug screening)
  • Score at or above 60% on Cooper Physical Fitness Test
  • Pass Psychological Examination
  • Pass Colonel’s Review
