Smith & Nephew is seeking a Statutory Fixed Asset Specialist in Alajuela, Costa Rica, to support fixed asset management and audits within their accounting team. The ideal candidate will possess relevant accounting qualifications and experience, particularly with fixed assets and compliance within the Free Trade Zone

Job Summary

  • Maintain an effective communication with PMs and other areas to successfully achieve the fixed assets control and the compilation of the required documentation to complete the capitalization process on a timely manner.
  • Prepared, control and execute the annual fixed asset physical inventory plan, including reconciliation with Fixed Asset Sub-ledger and in line with Minimum Acceptable Practices (MAPs).

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
  • Basic to intermediate in English

  • 2 years in accounting roles preferred
  • Experience with fixed asset processes preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with Free Trade Zone Regime compliance preferred
  • Active CPI or CPA accreditation preferred
  • Knowledge of SAP and Softland preferred
