Job Summary
The Head of Platform leads the delivery and evolution of Elsevier’s internal developer platform as a core driver of engineering transformation, aiming to accelerate modernization, reuse, and AI-enabled engineering.
This role is accountable for building and leading a global platform organization of 95–125 engineers, driving an engineering-led, automation-first culture, and delivering internal developer portal capabilities.
Success will be measured by increased developer productivity and satisfaction, adoption of platform capabilities, reduction in toil and time-to-market, increased reuse, and improved operational reliability and cost efficiency.

Strong grounding in SRE, observability, and secure-by-design
