The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) for Pediatric Orthopedics. The position involves assisting physicians, performing clinical procedures, and providing direct patient care, with participation in after-hours orthopedic call rotations

Job Summary

  • The APRN/PA will assist Orthopaedic Spine physicians with clinic, organizing visits and performing clinic procedures, assist in the operating room, answer pages, and round on inpatients as needed.
  • The APRN/PA will augment a physician's ability to provide medical services to patients; collect and document data, conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, order and schedule laboratory studies and professional consultations, and provide direct patient care services.

Key Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program with at least a Master’s in Nursing (APRN)
  • National Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
  • Certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in acute care (APRN)
  • Graduate from an accredited physician assistant program or eligible (PA)
  • Current Arkansas Physician Assistant license or eligible for licensure (PA)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
