Job Summary
The Instructional Design Specialist collaborates in the development and coordination of introductory biology courses for majors, namely Biology 1111, 1112, 1113x, 1114x, and participates in all aspects of planning, implementation, and assessment for those courses.
They train, evaluate, and mentor lab section instructors, graduate (GTA) and undergraduate (UTA) teaching associates in teaching methods; manage timely analysis of student performance on all course exercises; develop course materials for laboratory instruction and advise lecture instructors in their development of course assessments.
Participate in and present biology education research and pedagogy and biology education-related workshops offered at on- and off-campus sites; stay up to date on relevant biological education literature.
