Atmos Energy is seeking a Supply Chain Project Specialist to support logistics and materials management within the oil and gas sector. The role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to manage proposals, vendor negotiations, performance evaluations, and inventory management

Job Summary

  • Works closely with Operations, Technical Services and key suppliers on projects to understand requirements, develop and submit Request for Proposals (RFPs), evaluate proposals based on best value criteria as developed with stakeholders, submit recommendations for award, lead vendor negotiations, assist with contract development, develop material usage forecasts, coordinate delivery schedules, expedite shipments, and proactively communicate to all parties.
  • Coordinates investment recovery activities through identification of surplus inventory and non-book assets which are not being fully utilized.
  • Assists with new vendor approvals, assesses manufacturers, production capabilities and quality processes, and conducts periodic site visits to manufacturers and facilities to monitor work-in-process and general manufacturing capabilities.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or related field
  • Three years experience in logistics and/or materials management
  • Experience in oil, gas or closely related industry field operations
  • Intermediate computer skills for word processing, spreadsheet analysis, data entry, reference and/or retrieval tasks
  • Ability to perform analyses involving ratios, percentages and simple statistical methods
  • Ability to understand financial concepts (revenue, expenses, profit, etc.)
  • Ability to stoop, bend, crawl, kneel, grasp, reach, climb and lift objects in excess of 100 pounds
