  • Key responsibilities include developing training programs, evaluating emergency management procedures, providing instruction on preparedness and crime prevention, and preparing reports related to the program.
  • The role requires extensive knowledge of local, state, and federal laws regarding emergency services, disaster response, recovery, and mitigation, as well as planning, development, implementation, and assessment of emergency management programs.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelors / Master’s Degree
  • Current first aid and CPR certifications
  • DCJS Crime Prevention Specialist Certification or obtain within 1 year
  • CPTED Professional Designation or obtain within 1 year
  • International CPTED Certification or obtain within 2 years
  • Minimum of two (2) years in emergency services, public safety, or emergency management
  • Certified in NIMS or obtain within 1 year
  • Certified in ICS or obtain within 1 year
  • Certified IS 100, IS 200, IS 700, IS 800 within 6 months
  • Certified ICS 300, ICS 400 or obtain within 1 year
