Job Summary

  • This one year training program is for recent or soon to be high school graduates and alternative school graduates, teaching state government, highway maintenance and construction work.
  • Trainees will perform manual labor, complete weather-related operations, set up traffic control, maintain drainage systems, clear brush, repair guardrails, and service equipment.
  • As a full-time limited duration employee, you are eligible for health benefits, sick leave, 11 paid holidays a year, and after six months of employment, retirement benefits and enrollment in the Oregon Savings Growth Plan.

Key Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED between Jan 1, 2023 - July 1, 2026
  • Ability to obtain Class A CDL learner permit within 60 days
  • Ability to obtain Class A CDL with endorsements within six months
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Minimum 1 year driving experience
  • At least 18 years of age by Sept 1, 2026
