Job Summary
The Laboratory Customer Services Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the laboratory while performing specimen collection (if applicable), Point of Care testing (if applicable), and/or specimen processing under the direction of the Laboratory Customer Services Manager.
The Supervisor demonstrates specialized technical expertise necessary to these areas, adjusts staffing schedules and assigns tasks of subordinates to accommodate work load fluctuations, personnel shortages, etc.
Administrative duties include technical policy and procedure writing and implementation, training of new staff and/or students, documentation of employee competencies, record keeping, Quality Control and Quality Assurance monitoring activities and monthly review thereof, equipment maintenance/documentation review, temperature log review, and maintaining JCAHO, CAP and other regulatory standards.
