Job Summary

  • The Emergency Trainee is responsible for assessment and management of patient’s presenting to the Emergency Department (ED); communication of assessment and management decisions to other staff involved in the patient’s care; communication with the patient / family regarding the patient’s condition and management plans.
  • SVH ED is a busy department treating approximately 51,000 patients each year; the hospital is a trauma centre and has ECMO capabilities.
  • There is a comprehensive Primary Exam preparation program and individualised support for preparation towards the Fellowship Exams; all trainees receive 4 hours of paid protected teaching each week.
