Skills & Requirements

Must-have

  • Operate heavy and light equipment
  • Emergency cleanup and traffic control
  • Roadway and bridge maintenance
  • Maintain drainage and erosion control
  • Work in all weather conditions
  • Lift up to 60 pounds
  • Availability for emergency call-outs

Nice-to-have

  • Experience in road maintenance or construction
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Experience working safely in hazardous conditions
  • Preference for CDL permit holders

Key Requirements

  • One year highway maintenance experience or two years related experience
  • Obtain Public Pesticide Applicator’s license within six months
  • Valid CDL-A with tanker endorsement or ability to acquire within six months
  • Maximum 45-minute emergency response time to Albany location
  • Valid driver license and acceptable driving record
