Key responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, and training nursing staff, coordinating pharmacy services, and acting as a liaison between the facility, physicians, and family members.
The DON also participates in quality assurance, state surveys, and provides direct resident care as needed, while maintaining strict confidentiality.
