Job Summary

  • Lead a team of 3-10 ship structural engineers, designers and analysts supporting client sites at NSWC Carderock/DC Navy Yard.
  • Ensure that customers receive accurate technical advice and deliverables in a timely fashion and meet with customers to determine future engineering and technical needs.
  • Foster a strong mentorship culture and set goals and objectives for team members for achievement of operational results.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture or Mechanical, Civil, or Ocean engineering
  • 5+ years of professional, ship-related, structural engineering experience
  • 3+ years of experience utilizing ABS SVR/MVR or ABS NVR or U.S. Navy ship structural design standards
  • 3+ years of experience performing finite element analysis
  • Proficiency with FEMAP, NASTRAN, AutoCAD, and MS Excel, Powerpoint, and Word
  • Demonstrated experience managing or leading a small team
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time
  • Willing and able to get and maintain a Secret clearance
